Brake lever pulls too far before the brakes engage? Different lever feel and contact point between front and rear brakes?
The Brake Pad Advancement Tool is the solution to limited adjustability of bicycle hydraulic disc brakes. The Brake Pad Advancement Tool allows you to adjust the brake pad contact point and lever throw quickly and easily without bleeding your brakes. Get the perfect lever feel every time!
The Brake Pad Advancement Tool works with all brands of hydraulic bicycle brakes and works by precisely advancing the brake pads towards the rotor which reduces the distance the brake lever pulls. For best results, your rotors must be true. See how to use it below.

I didn't know someone made this tool. I did the job by trial and error. I never ordered anything faster than I did this. The video hadn't even finished and I had the spacing tool in the cart and was questioning the sag tool. Both.
Thanks Jeremy! Glad it helped speed things up for you!
My repair motto is "the right tool for the job". And this is one of them. I much appreciate the thought that went into this to make possible the inward adjustment of the pistons. Thank you!
That's a good motto! Thanks for the review and glad you got your brakes working the way you want them to.
When trying to get the pads just a little closer and not make a mess with brake fluid, I find this tool to be helpful, simple & effective. It may turn into my primary way of pad adjustment combined with a lever bleed.
It works. The brake I worked on was the rear wheel -- it was easier to take the caliper off than the rear wheel, but regardless I followed the steps provided and it helped reduce the slack a bunch.
Great tip! I never thought of doing it that way.
Tool makes sense but didn't work for my hydraulic brakes
Sorry it didn't work out as expected for you. I reached out directly with some troubleshooting tips. Let me know if that helps or not.
